Amla
(Emblica officinalis)

The richest source of vitamin C, Amla is useful in throat and respiratory tract infections. It protects cells from free radical damage.

Arjuna

(Terminalia arjuna)

The bark of tree is a cardiac stimulant and has a cooling and tonic effect. It is useful in arresting secretion or bleeding. It helps to relieve fever. It is also useful in removing calculi or stones formed in the urinary system, in promoting flow of bile and in the healing of wounds. Asthma, acne, diarrhea or dysentery, earache.
 


Ashwagandha 

(Withania somnifera)

It is also called as Indian Ginseng. It has been used in various diseases such as leprosy, nervous, disorders, intestinal infections. Of late it has gained importance because of its property to increase resistance to stress and build greater physical endurance.
 

Babchi

(Psoralea corylifolia)

The seeds are useful in bilious affection & to make perfumed oil. The powder is used in treatment of skin disease such as leucoderma & leprosy. It is used in treating psoriasis. It is also used in the manufacture of agarbathis because of its aromatic smell.
 

Baheda

(Terminalia belerica)

It is used in coughs, sore throat and dyspepsia. It is one of the constituents of triphala, which finds use in hair care, diseases of liver and gastro-intestinal tract. It is also a mild laxative and demulcent.
 

Brahmi

(Bacopa monnieri)

A well known herb that helps in improving alertness. Brahmi also acts as an anti-anxiety agent and has a calming effect.

Chopchini
(Smilax china)

Roots are aphrodisiac, pseudorific, demulent, alteratively used in rheumatism, syphilis, and skin diseases. The rhizome is made into a paste and applied to painful swellings.
 

Dioscorea

(Dioscorea floribunda)

It is used as anti-inflammatory, anabolic, antifertility, Antiarthritic.
 

Geloy

(Tinaspora cordifolia)

It is used in fevers, dyspepsia, general debility and urinary diseases. It is also used in rheumatism, jaundice, arthritis and diabetes.

(Aloe vera)

It is used in appetite-stimulant, purgative, emmenogogue and antheimintic, cough, colds, piles, debility, dyspnoea, asthma and jaundice.
 

Harad

(Terminalia chebula)

It is used in cough, asthma and urinary diseases. It is one of the ingredients of Triphala along with Amla and Behra. Used in treatment of piles. It is also used in tanning of leather.
 

Kalmegh
(Andrographis paniculata)

The decoction of the plant is a blood purifier. It is used as a cure for torpid liver and jaundice. It is a major constituent of the Ayurvedic preperation switradilepa which in effective in treating vitiligo. The plant is also extracted for Andrographolide.

Karanj
(Pongamia glabra)

Seeds contain 27% bitter and dark (sherry) coloured fixed oil (pongamia oil). The oil contains toxic flavonoids including 1.25% karanjin and 0.85% pongamol alkaloid, resin, mucilage and sugar. Seed extract is used for Skin problems, in tanning, Shops, infestation of grains, piscidal, insecticidal, nematicidal and bactericidal activity.
 

Kucchila
(Strychnos nuxvomica)

It is the important source of alkaloids, brucine and strachnine. These alkaloids find importance in manufacture of high value drugs to treat muscles and the spinal chord. It is highly intoxicating in natural form. It has a marked effect on the nervous system.

Lasuna (Garlic)

(Allium sativum)  

Lasuna helps in controlling the excess conversion of lipids and cholesterol.

Safed Musli

It has aphrodiasiac properties & vitalizer. It is used for  Diabetes,Arthritis, curative for Natal & post-natal problems,  Rheumetism and Joint Pains, powerful uterine stimulant, for the preparation of nutritive tonic used in general sexual weakness.

Sarpagandha
(Rauvolfia serpentina)

It is used for Instanity, schizoprenia, epilepsy, blood pressure, sedative, snake bite, Hypertension, insomnia.

Seetaphal

(Annona squamosa)

 

Roots are powerful purgative and are useful in mental depression and spinal disorder. Leaves are insecticidal. Fruits are sedative, stimulant, expectorant and tonic. They are also useful in anemia, burning sensation, vomiting, cough, malignant, tumours and strengthening the muscles. Seeds have very powerful insecticidal properties.

(Zingiber officinale)

It is used for Gastrointestinal disorder, Bronchial asthma, anti-inflammatory effect. The antirheumatic, Antihistaminic, antiemetic and antivertigo, nausea and dyspepsia.

Talispatra

(Taxus baccata)

It is the source of the anti-cancer alkaloid "Taxol". It is also used in treatment of asthma, haemoptysis and epilepsy.

Tulasi

(Ocimum sanctum)

Tulasi has anti-micribial and anti-inflammatory properties, and is useful in respiratory tract infections like dry or wet cough, cold and sore throat.

Vach
(Acorus calamus)

Calamus rhizome is used in the form of powder and balms. It is used as an insecticide for the distruction of fleas, bedbugs, moths, lice etc. It is used in the treatment of diarrhoea and worms in children. The rhizome is also used to make calamus oil, which has a pleasant odour.
